Oil prices dropped recently, so our problems are over right? Not so fast! China is securing its future by buying more and more oil resources around the world — what I call China’s Great Wall of Oil.
All the best,
Sean

How do I buy stocks in the China oil?
Thanks for the news. Much appreciated………
Dear Sean,
I tried to send you this the other day, but since you all had computer problems I assume you didn’t get it. If you don’t mind, here it is again:
I am reading your book now. It’s good. Thank you for writing it.
I think that what is coming will shock even those who are expecting it. My focus now is on developing some ideas that I think will be needed in the aftermath. Historically speaking, revolutions and crises may be interesting to read about, but what really matters is what comes after them. I think it will be critical to have good ideas well thought out and made presentable to challenge, and offer as an alternative to, the inevitable dangerous ones.
I am in the process of writing a book that presents a new kind of tax system to replace our current income tax. I believe it is superior to even the “Flat Tax”, “Fair Tax”, and any consumption tax system. Although my idea is simple it would have profound implications if accepted and implemented, for it would make manifest a very different (but not entirely new) concept of American citizenship. In addition, it would automatically help to solve many of this countries political and economic problems, from illegal immigration to the lack of civic participation. Furthermore, I strongly believe it would be the the most economically pro-growth tax policy possible.
I intend to present my vision of American citizenship, explain the philosophical basis for it, and then contrast it to our current one and how that manifested into the society we have now. I’ll then present my tax proposal in light of that new philosophical framework and my concept of citizenship. Finally, I intend to suggest a practical way to gradually implement the new system, starting with our current economic and political realities.
This is my first book. I believe in my idea and many of the people who I’ve discussed it with have come around to liking it. They believe, as I do, that the times are changing and more and more people are increasingly open to new ideas and solutions. Even the most ignorant are beginning to see that our current framework of problems and “solutions” are no longer working.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions that you have and would be kind enough to offer. I’d particularly like to learn how to present my idea to those who may want to see it published. I’m now in the process of writing a cover letter and completing an outline. Again, any suggestions would be most welcome, and thanks again for all you do.
Sincerely,
Bruce Calder
